Dr. Zeeshan Noor is an Assistant Professor and Director of the MS in Nonprofit Administration program at the Institute for Nonprofit Administration and Research (INAR) at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, where he holds the Norman A. Dolch Super Professorship. He earned his Ph.D. in Public Affairs with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2021. Dr. Noor is a mixed-methods researcher with expertise in survey-based research.
His research focuses on philanthropy, volunteering, digital media in the nonprofit sector, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). His teaching interests include nonprofit management, resource development, human resource management, and communication. Dr. Noor’s research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals in the field, including Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly (NVSQ), Journal of Nonprofit Management and Leadership (NML), Voluntary Sector Review (VSR), and Journal of Philanthropy and Marketing (JPM). He also has a forthcoming book chapter on nonprofits' use of social media.
Dr. Noor currently serves on the Membership Committee of the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA) and as Chair of the American Society for Public Administration’s (ASPA) Section on Professional and Organizational Development (SPOD). Previously, Dr. Noor served as Co-Chair of ASPA’s Annual Global Public Administration Capstone Panel Committee, Professional Development Chair of the ASPA Indiana Chapter, and a DEI Council Member at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
Dr. Noor’s notable accolades include the ARNOVA Emerging Scholar Award (2021), ARNOVA Doctoral and Diversity Fellowships, the APPAM Equity and Inclusion Young Professional Fellowship (2023), ASPA SICA David Gould Scholar Award (2021), and the Wallace O. Keene Conference Scholarship (2021). He was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society in 2015
